Pride of our Footscray will serve good beer, good wine, good food and good times to good people and support the community in doing so. There will be space for local entertainers to perform, there will be space for local artists to hang their work, there will be facilities for local freelancers and students to work, the food will come from Footscray’s existing restaurants, beer will come from some of the local breweries, it will be a place for the local LGBTIQA community to meet and the bar itself will be owned by a community of part owners. Should this (ad)venture succeed, many will have contributed to, and benefited from, that success.

With over 150 shareholders involved already, we anticipate the venue will have a widespread appeal and a regular customer base. One of our commercial partners has already dubbed us “everyone’s local”.
In addition to investing in a pub which we believe to have a sustainable future, investors will be invited to two exclusive shareholder events per year, and receive discounts on beverages from time to time.
What’s with the name?
We wanted a venue that was “Proud of Footscray because of the uniqueness of the area. When we realised Proud of Footscray was P.O.F., the in-joke was too tempting hence the birth of Pride of our Footscray.
What is the structure of the company?
Pride of our Footscray Ltd is an unlisted public company which is owned by a community of part-owners, managed by a board of six talented directors.
What is the level of interest in Pride of our Footscray?
In addition to already having over 150 shareholders and over a thousand Facebook followers, Pride of our Footscray has been in several publications including Star Weekly being the local paper, the Australian Financial Review, and the popular music magazine, Beat. For how long are shares available?
Shares can be purchased up to 29 September 2017. After which, no further shares can be issued by the company. Shares can be purchased from shareholders willing to sell.
How do I sell a share?
Pride of our Footscray is not on the stock exchange but shares can be sold to a person interested in buying them. This arrangement is between the buyer and seller. If necessary, please contact Pride of Footscray for further explanation.
Will you play Western Bulldogs games?
Yes! We plan to have multiple screens playing multiple sports all year round – particularly the Doggies games.
What’s your address?
Pride of our Footscray has signed a Heads of Agreement with an existing venue located in the middle of Footscray. We will be able to discuss once the Contract of Sale has been signed, now expected in early August.
